Built in the late 1980's by GE,
the DASH 8-40B diesel locomotives were identified by their
dynamic brake gear located along the roof line between the cab
and engine compartment, with engine ventilation provided by
large roof-top grilles. These four-axle, high horsepower
engines are still in service today in North America.
Skillfully painted and crafted
with precision and detail, Atlas O's true 1/4" scale
models capture a bonanza of the DASH 8-40B locomotives'
features. Equipped with the latest version of the popular
Lionel TrainMaster Command and RailSounds 4.0 digital sound
system, Atlas O's new top-of-the-line locomotive will add a
